We kicked off the month of March with a hugely successful event for International Women’s Day, held at the Park Hyatt in Yorkville. “Shop Local – Women Supporting Women” was a passion project meant to embrace the shared kindred spirit of ambitious female entrepreneurs across the GTA. Boutique Owner, Shellie Willms spearheaded this event with Lilla Balint (owner of The Black Box Boutique) to celebrate women! We were thrilled to have Joanna Track (Founder of Eluxe) as our honoured guest, and she led an inspiring segment highlighting her career as a successful female entrepreneur AND we honoured her as Canada’s Most Impactful Woman of 2012! Following International Women’s Day, Pomp & Pageantry was selected as one of two featured boutiques for where to shop in Yorkville as World Mastercard Fashion Week began here in Toronto. Her face was plastered all across the city, and the boutique was given huge recognition and buzz. Fashion Week is ALWAYS notable and we had a fabulous time at all of the shows! Pavoni topped our list for many reasons, but most of all for their impeccable art in combining contemporary edge with classic silhouettes…LOVE, LOVE LOVE!
After fashion week you’d think we’d be exhausted but the world of fashion does NOT sleep! Since we were on a major high, we were beyond ready to start a new project. First on her list was a renovation inside the shop…
And to end off the month, Shellie hosted an event to celebrate our Mastercard Stylicity feature as a Spring preview and Meet & Greet featuring our local designers : Rachel Sin, Niki + Lola, Shay Lowe and Michelle Ross. Party goers had a blast, and it was a wonderful ending to a marvelous month!
